Are they both USB? They will need to be connected via a green Mouse connector.

The Recovery Console is a command line tool, so why would you want the mouse?

becuase i have 2 options, system restore, and recovery programme, both are radio buttons,

i need to select the radio button and push next on the recovery programme, i cant use tab on the keyboard eiter

I am confused as to how you are accessing the recovery console.
Take a look at this from Microsoft click here

I think you may be talking about a manufacturers Recover to factory utliity.

yeh sorry its actual namre is the "packard bell recovery programme" anyways, ive managed to egt the keyboard and tab working :p, ive chosen the destructive recovery, this will delete all user data! is this what i wanted lol! what i wanted to do was restore the system back to how it was when it was brand spanking new!!!!

hipefully ive done the right thing lol

If you have either backed up data you wanted to keep or you have no data you want to keep then you have made the right choice.
