Using a mic

  kingkenny 18:23 01 Apr 03

Hi all,

I have just bought a distinctly cheap mic to use for messenger and online games like MOHAA. I have connected this up to my Asus A7V333 mobos onboard audio. I have configured it to use my audio drivers.

The problem is my voice is reportedly really quiet and when i have tested it myself I can hear my voice through the speakers which are also connected to my mobo. I really only want to punish other people with my bad singing not myself!!

Can anyone give me some advice on setting this mic up properly?

I don't think I should be able to hear my voice through the speakers!!
Don't you just hate your own voice when you hear it...haha!

Are you certain that the mic is plugged into the proper socket?

I am pretty sure, it is

Have I missed something here, why do I hear my voice through the speakers?
