Using Medion 8800 headphones

I have just bought a Medion 8800, which comes with a set of headphones. There are headphone sockets on the front of the base but when the headphones are plugged in it doesn't cut out the speakers. I've contacted Medion support but have had no response, does anybody know how I can cut out the speakers, short of physically turning them off?

Thanks

Ian

I think the headphones output socket is of a type that does not isolate the audio from the speaker sound channel when you have headphones plugged in.
I can't think of a way around it other than to switch off the speakers.

Okay thanks. At least the speaker volume control is pretty handy.
