I was wondering if i would be to use this as a wireless router whilst the pc was on and make it share the internet connection?

You cannot use the BT combined "Router/ADSL Modem" as a router with the Cable Broadband service. What you *may* be able to do is use it as a basic Wireless Access Point to let you connect a WiFi enabled computer to a computer with only a "wired" ethernet connection. You would have to disable its DHCP server and then set up Internet Connection Sharing in the PC that connects to the Cable Modem.
