user accounts ,cannot delete

i wish to delete two user accounts from my o.s. i go to control panel click user accounts highlight the one i want deleted but each time it comes up as a non responsive programme, any ideas on how to delete these accounts

This is not a built-in windows account (like administrator or guest?) If so, I would go with group policy to disable the account.

You are logged in as an administrator with appropriate rights to delete accounts?

Restart the computer and retry the delete account operation. I know that sometimes if an account has been logged in, certain things are
held open and account operations like profile copying can be affected. I would imagine this could in some cases also affect your
ability to delete.

Try using start menu - run -type in compmgmt.msc - system tools - local users and groups - users - to list and manage this account.
