Hi.

I need a Windows operating disk to be able to run VMware Fusion on my Mac.

My girlfriend has a laptop with the original disks, but swapped to a Mac herself a few months ago. She does not use the Windows laptop anymore and so I wanted to know if that disk can be used for what I need.

Thanks.

If its a retail disk then no problem

if an OEM than it can only be used on the machine it came with

You can always download an installation disc from Microsoft's site at Windows 7 .iso

Thanks guy's for the advice.

How much is the downloaded version?

The download links to Digital River are just Microsoft's Official d/load links, no product key, they are meant for anyone to d/load an .iso in order to burn an installation dvd and use their own product key.

Heidoc.net also lists the same direct d/load links but has more info on what to do with the .iso and links to buy W7 that might be the cheapest (on Amazon for example)
