I am currently considering changing my motherboard and the motherboard that I am considering buying has USB version two ports. I currently run Windows 98 on my PC and am wondering whether or not Windows 98 is compatible with USB2. I would be grateful if someone could tell me if there is a compatibility problem and if there is what operating systems are compatible with the standard.

My usb 2 was only compatable when I went on to XP,had a new PC, dealer informed me of this & they work fine

Yes Win98SE is compatible, as long as you get the correct driver for the USB2 chipset in use.

This site has pointers to where the various main chipset drivers are located.
