If I remove a TV card from my computer is it in order to replace it with a USB2 card to up the number of USB2 ports available? Computer is an AMD Athlon 64 3000 with 1Gb Ram 160 Gb memory

If I understand you correctly, removing a pci tv card and fitting a pci usb2 card will increase you number of usb2 ports.

I'm presuming that you have no spare pci slots left.

Nothing untoward in replacing a TV tuner PCI card with a USB2.0 PCI card - use one of the newly available USB ports to attach an external Freeview USB TV Tuner dongle/stick...:-)
