how can i tell which one i have,the spec. of the pc says usb2 but my son connected his usb2 hard drive to the pc but says it's speed is usb1.
pc is mesh matrix 2.6 with 6 usb2 ports!
is there a device that can check this out?

is installed on the system including all windows updates. If it says "Enhanced host controller" under the USB heading then you have USB2 installed.

How did your son know? If you connect a USB 2.0 hardware to a USB 1.1 port a message should appear on-screen to inform you of the speed difference.

Was this the message you saw or is he judging by some other method?
