how do i get my win 95a machine to work with my usb webcam? is there a card manufacturer that allows me to install a usb expansion card and supplies the necessary usb drivers for w95 v 4.00950

Yes, you can buy a PCI card that enables win9x to work with USB, but I don't think that 95a suports USB, 95b has limited suport, and it is only when you move to 98 and above that you get full suport.

Even then, only through a PCI card, except for winXP, this gives full suport from the O/S and Motherboard, after installing the upgrade patch.

I fitted one of these to a pc to run a USB printer and it worked ok.

Win 95 is not very good with USB. I am sure in the fiting instructions it did say Win 95-XP.
Check first to make sure.

Win95 original simply does not support USB. You need at least OSR2, and even then support is less than perfect. The correcy way to go is with Win98.

I should have said you need at least OSR 2.1

Please check that the webcam has win95 drivers, if not you will still not be able to use it. Also win95a first edition is some what different to win95b second edition.

I once installed a modem that has win95b driver support to a win95a system, and it trashed windows, therefore take care.
