I have a usb stick (16gb Duracell)that when I try to add to it or delete things message comes up with words that it is write protected. I have been looking on the net on how to correct this. One way I have found that may be a remedy is to go into regedit

HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies

Then right click and change the the value to 0

Problem is i can only go as far as Control, there is no StorageDevicePolicies Advice please.

I have used the stick in the past with no problems.

Good info here.

Regedit the last place to go I think.

Otherwise try shutting down the PC. Connect the flash drive then boot up. Hopefully Windows will ignore it as it is not a bootable drive. Once you're on the desktop try to open it in windows explorer or file explorer as it's now known.
