USB printer from parallel port on computer

My trusted Quickbasic programmmes will only write to screen or LPT1 (possibly
COM also), I understand. My new printer only has a USB connection. Is there
a way forward? Belkin have cables from the USB on the computer to either
Centronics or Serial on the printer - I need the opposite! Help would be appreciated.

we used something like this to overcome an Epsom printer prob when pc would only give ltp1 and not usb for printer port.

Cable no use as I now understand that printer does not support DOS printer commands! Alternatively, there is no Quickbasic address for USB! Either buy printer with parallel port and check it supports DOS printer commands e.g. HP 3820 (commands available from HP), or try transferring ports as PC Advisor, issue 92, p 147 (although I could not get these ideas to work), or try cable suggested by Technodimwit, if using USB printer supporting DOS.
