A friend is having problems with new Canon IP 2000 printer via usb on computer running 98se 256mb ram and plenty of hd space.
This computer has just two usb ports and I wonder if this printer may need a powered hub.Previous printer was via serial connection and worked o. k.
Any other thoughts?

Unlikely as I doubt the printer draws power from the USB, with W98 it's more likely to be a driver problem

I will check driver version, but this printer was recently bought. The link gives a driver date of
10/09/2004.
I have a spare hub so will also give this a try when we next meet.

I'll give it a tick now and post the results.
