USB or USB2 Port ~ How do I tell?

My old PC, still going strong, has both USB and USB2 Sockets. It has recently been successfully upgraded from XP to W7.

There are a pair on the Front Panel, a Block of 4 across the bottom of the Back Plate and another pair, half way up the left hand side.

I know that some are USB and some are USB2.

Can anyone tell me of a simple way to differentiate between the two types?

Usually, if you insert a USB 2.0 device into a USB 1.1 port, you will get a message that the device will perform better if plugged into a high speed USB port. This should let you identify which are the USB 2.0 ports.

Totally agree with the above.
