I have recently formatted and installed Win XP, previously I was using W98 and now I cannot get my built in USB ports to work.
They are found on start-up and then windows asks for a driver disk, I have offered the Win XP disk and also the Win 98 disk, to no avail.
Exclamationed in Device manager it says:
Intel(r) 82371AB/EB PCI to USB Universal Host Controller. Code 10 this device cannot start.
I have tried removing and udating drivers, but donnot know where to point the driver installation.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Sharon

Have you remembered to install the SP1 service pack. This contains updated chipset drivers .If you have then you may need to install updated drivers from the Intel site.

I have followed your kind instructions and downloaded drivers as per links, only to receive messages that I need service pack 1 or higher installed. I have looked for service pack 1 only to find it is a 100 plus Mb, and I don't have broadband!!
Not quite sure what I can do now, short of finding someone with broadband to download the service pack and try from there.
