USB modem prevents hibernation

  Jackcoms 12:28 03 Mar 07

I've just upgraded from 2Mb broadband to ADSL Max (8Mb) and I'm now in my 10 day 'stabilisation period' so my Sagem USB modem is left connected all day to help the stabilisation.

I've noticed that when I leave the modem connected my PC won't hibernate overnight but if I disconnect from the internet late at night the PC quite happily hibernates.

Anybody know why that should be?

Hi, probably because with the modem connected there is activity going on in the background all the time.

Thanks for that.

That's what I suspected but it's nice to have confirmation.

I would also add - especially so, during your stabilisation period.
