USB Logitech mouse speed

I am an O.A.P. and regularly play cards on my computer. I use a Logitech rollerball type mouse with USB connection to play the cards.
However, I find that after playing about 5 games of cards, the mouse comes very much less effective, and appears to move the cards, with a sticky action, which makes them go to different parts of the monitor before coming to rest where you put them. I have tried several things to rectify this, without success. Does anyone know how to rectify this problem.

What card games are you playing - are they Solsuite?

Sounds very much like the ball and its contacts inside the mouse need a good clean. A quarter turn on the disc holding the ball will release it. Clean With a nonabrasive prod and use cotton bud damped with Isopropyl Alchohol - or Vodka! to finish the job.
