USB help

Recently purchased a new base unit and
wireless keyboard.
Without loading any software and drivers
the keyboard worked perfectly when one
of USB port at the bottom of the computer
was used.
But it will not work with any of the other
USB ports even after using the CD that came with the keyboard.These are placed higher up on the
These USB ports work perfecly with any other
I'm sure there must be a simple explanation.

What make and model keyboard ?
Have you rebooted the computer since you installed the software ?

it's microsoft wireless keyboard 3000v1.0.

The computer has been rebooted.

I wont be able to try that solution till tomorrow.
My father is using that keyboard while I'm
using his.

I had a feeling that my VISTA operating system
might have been the problem.

But the keyboard was an optional extra listed with the base unit.(Nothing was said about it
being unsuitable for VISTA).

Ive had a few issues with MS hardware in the past and was advised to use the Intellipoint software as ive advised to you,this has solved my problems 100%.
