Recently built a Athlon XP2000 with 256 ddr pc2700 ram , with 4 usb ports... When i connected the usb hardware ie. Cable modem, camera, scanner, all found and installed ok, drivers installed ok. But when i restart or start computer , all the above items in device manager are showing as drivers not installed or not connected. If i unplug modem and plug it back in , it works ok. ? I am running Win 98se as O/S.
Is Mboard faulty? Or is Win98se not good enough for this system? Help pleaseeeeee!
Galahad.

Do not know if this is any help. I am having a similar problem with a flash card reader.Having tried various means, it would appear as though my motherboard with a SIS chipset [PCCHIPS M741LMRT]is causing a USB controller problem. I found this out via a error code 10 appearing whist trying to resolve my problem. Perhaps not your answer, but worth a mention.
