USB Hardware not recognised - BT Broadband

  Ridleyrider 09:51 03 Sep 04

I've just installed Windows XP on a brand new hard drive at home.

I cant get the USB to recognise my BT Broadband connection. 'USB Hardware not recognised' is the message I get. It's an ADSL modem and I'm installing Broadband using the BT disc.

I've called BT and they're a bit stumped and I'm calling back later but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas why this is happening.

I have tried another piece of hardware in the USB port (Digital Camera) and it recognises it.

Is the installation disc not installing the drivers correctly maybe?

Click on unrecognised device, select update driver and point XP to the driver folder on the BT CD.
