USB Hard drive

I have a USB 160Gb external hard drive which is using FAT32 and is full of files. Problem is it does not show up in windows explorer when plugged in but does show up as disk 1 in storage management console. It seems windows is not assigning it a drive letter. Is there anyway I can sort this issue out? I have connected it to a Windows Vista business machine, windows xp and a windows 2000 machine but none of them display it in explorer.

I have also tried changing the jumper config on the back of the drive from cable select to other settings but it still does not recognise it in explorer.

Can you give it a drive name in Admin tools> Computer management> Disk Management

No it won't take it. I have managed to resolve this issue by using Acronis disk director server. It let me assign a drive letter which windows wwould not. When using the Disk management it only let me right click and choose help.
