usb flash memory problem

i have got hold of a usb integral 512mb
flash memory windows xp says its a usb device
and calls it removable storage
but when i try to use it says no disk
please insert disk

win xp service pack 2

your help please

sounds like maybe you just need to format the disk (usb key).

open my computer and if the drive is shown, right click it and choose format, format with fat32 (makes it readable in any PC).

i didnt have to do this with mine so dont know if it will work or not but worth trying

already tried it says insert disk
checked integral web site
they say this happens when it has been password protected

it was like this straight out the sealed
check on second computer does same thing

looks like have to take it back to pcworld
see if they can help

it is a integral courier usb 2 512 mb

i think that when you first plug the device into your computer, windows should detect this as new hardware and set it up. if not try install new hardware from control panel. removable storage is just a generic name windows gives various drive letters, means nothing connected
