USB External Hard Drive - Drive not recognised

  ajm 12:18 29 Jun 05

Have had this external drive for over 3 years and have had no such problems until now.

Drive was not seen under Windows XP and device manager had a exclamation mark beside the hardware with the foollowing error "This device cannot start. (Code 10)
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."

Have unisntalled the Mass Storage Device and unplugged the USB Cable. When I insert the USB Cable in, Windows finds the USB Mass Storage Devicee. However it then brings up the error message: " A problem occurred during hardware installation. Your hardware may not function correctly"
