I have problems connecting my camera (Olympus D-435) TO MY pc running Windows ME
When I go to System Properties >> Device Manager >> USB Disk Properties, I see the USB device but with a yellow exclamation mark indicating a driver problem.
The message on the driver details are:
Device either not present or does not have all the drivers.
Driver details, (Date 06/08/2000) file version 4.90/3000

........\IOSUBSYS\USBMPHLP.PDR
........\VMM32.VXD (ios.vxd)

I get the same problem plugging in a previously workin MP3 player.
I have also tried new USB drivers from USBMAN
USBAUTH.SYS
USBHUB.SYS
USBMPHLP.SYS
USBNTMAP.SYS
USBSTOR.SYS
USBUI.DLL
But that does not seem to have changed anything!!!
Before I try and load XP..can someone please help???

Code 12

Uninstall and reinstall drivers (sounds like you have tried that)

What chipset are you using? VIA ? AlI? Intel?

Try uninstalling the USB root hubs and reinstalling with the correct driers for your chip set.

Fruitbat, thanks for your response....And now you will see that I am a very novice PC'r....

Don't know (How can i tell)
The USB Root hub is an Intel Version 2
Intel 82801AA Universal Host Controller
If thats what you mean!

>>>Try uninstalling the USB root hubs and reinstalling with the correct driers for your chip set. (Sorry to ask..but how??) I don't have any CD's to load from as it was a bundled package (I might have a restore CD somewhere, but not sure if the drivers can be retrieved from this CD)
If this is an Intel one, is there somewhere I can get the drivers from?
