USB Devices on Exit causes freeze

  tell_boy 11:54 22 May 06

After I have used a USB Device (USB 2.0) such a digital camera, external hard drive, scanner close it correctly and return to desktop I get the Egg Timer and a Freeze.
When I call up Task Manager nothing shows as running so I click for a restart.
I get a message Explorer.Exe and Option "END NOW".
It has only recently happened. Windows XP Home SP2. I have 1GB RAM.
The computer restarts everything OK until I use a USB Device again.
I know that if you disconnect a USB Device you Switch Off at the taskbar first but I am not disconnecting them.
It is driving me mad. Any advice please

Go into device manager and uninstall everything Under USB root hubs and all.

Reboot let XP find new hardware and einstall the Usb equipment.
This will "refresh all the USB channels.

Does the fault still occur?
