Will a USB mouse work with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 ports?

I ask this because my frined had a USB 1.1 Memory Key that just wouldn't plug into a USB 2.0 port.

I thourght that the connectors were physically the same. Am I wrong?

they are the same, you jus have to make sure you have the right drivers for 2.0, im running my microsoft explorer mouse on a usb 2.0 sonnection, i suspect that your friend did not have the correct drivers for his memory key, as usb 2.0 and 1.1 have the same properties

it should do , USB2 is fully backward compatible, your friends key may not have fitted into the port on account of the plastic moulding of the case or the key, (quite a common problem with front mounted usb ports) if thats not the case then i suspect that either something is broken or they were trying to put it in the wrong way up
