USB card affecting the colour of my monitor.

I bought a Belkin USB 2.0 5 Port PCI card for my computer that runs XP SP2. The card seems to work fine except when I plug a Digital Camera conection into it, the colour on the monitor darkens and goes slightly blue green. It's recovers as soon as I take the connection out. The card has a webcam permamently connected and that works OK and doesn't change the monitor colour. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks

My guess would be excessive power drain on the USB port.

Thanks for the response. Is there anything I can do about it? Will it harm the computer in any way?
