USB Cables?

I went in to PC World the other day and on almost every rack they had a pile of Belkin USB 2.0 Cables plastered with logos like " NEW Faster USB 2 cables ".

I began to wonder if there is any difference in cables for USB 1 and USB 2 or is it just clever marketing?

Hi shaduf. The difference is in the quality of the cable. USB 2 works at a higher frequency, so the USB 2 specification requires the cable to be less lossy at these higher frequencies than is necessary for USB 1. Hence a cable that is suitable for USB 2 will be more than good enough for USB 1, but not vice versa.
