I have just fitted a BELKIN USB 2.0/FIREWIRE PCI Card. The installation went as normal, but the card will not recognize any USB Flash Drives, and the when I try to switch off the PC,it restarts

It is listed in device manager

Any ideas please.

Remove then replace the PCI card making sure of a good fit.

Does the card recognise any other USB device?

I have removed and refitted, its still the same. The card recognizes my webcam.

When the USB FLASH DRIVE is connected to the other MB and front USB ports,it works ok.

I have just fitted the card to another PC,exactly the same problems.

Thanks for helping.

PS,the molex connection is that for extra power

the molex connection is that for extra power ... at a guess I would say Yes, possibly required when using the Firewire Port.

Having the same problems on another PC, makes me think that the card might be faulty!

Faulty card, that's what I'm thinking.I refitted my old USB 2.0 card, works without any issues.
Just my luck.

Thank you for always helping.

From your further comment, I would say definitely a faulty card!

Always glad to try and help.
