I'm looking to buy a new scanner, but i dont have a USB 2 connection. how easy is it to install a usb 2 connection - is it just a matter of installing a plug in card into my mbo ?

i've seen Canon sell a scanner with usb 2 connector - is is this easy ?

my mbo is an Asus P4s333.

Can you make sure that the scanner is in fact a USB2, some manufactures have a different way of describing the USB protocol, and though it may say, USB2 connector, it may in fact be a 1.1 interface through a 2.0 connector. J.

If you have USB 1.1 on your machine, you don't need 2.0. The 2.0 works with 1.1, it's just slower. But I doubt you will notice any difference with a scanner. My Canon scanner workes fine on 1.1 USB.
