Hi.

I've got an external hard drive taht uses USB 2 and my PC has USB 1.

The External HD works OK but obviously the PC needs to the USB 2 for it to work to its full potential.

What kit do I need to update the PC to USB 2?

Thanks!

Is that as easy to fit as the Ethernet(?) card that I had to get when I got BB installed? IE Just whip the PC's cover off and put it into one of the free slots.

What is your operating System as Other than XP and above, it can be a nightmare to get USB2 running

If it's Win XP or Vista it's just plug and play; Windows already supports USB 2.0.

If it's Win 98SE you'll need to install some drivers which should come with the card

If it's earlier than Win 98SE, you can't have USB 2.0

I've got WinXP on my PC.

That means its OK??

Yes that should work OK with a PCI usb2 card, if you have a white slot free
