URL links in Microsoft Excel

I want to create an Excel spreadsheet in which one column will contain URL links to websites.
In Word typing in such an address allows a double click to link to the chosen website.
In excel, hyperlinks do the same, but unlike word typed addresses do not automatically convert to links. Can I set up a column to treat the cell entries as hyperlinks without going through the rigmarole of typing each one separately,(there are nearly 100)as I can import a word list into Excel to avoid retyping. Any ideas/short cuts would be appreciated, as even cut'n paste is a lengthy task when dome one at a time.

Yes. Say your website addresses are in column A, then in B1 enter the formula

=HYPERLINK(A1)

and copy the formula down as far as needed.
