we get internet access from work and i am told we cannot have a web site. Do I need to buy a hosting package or somthing similar?
but I don't understand - do you mean that your employer's ISP doesn't allow you server space for personal web sites? If that is what you mean then yes, you will have to pay for a hosting package.
Check to see if your home ISP offers free webspace first. It might be sufficient for your needs. You may need to consider aquiring a suitable domain name as well, of course, if your ISP didn't give you one.
Where I work we aren't allowed to upload stuff onto any website, so it might be the same where you are. Best do it from home as ade h says.
