Uploading video from miniDV to PC via firewire

Help!

I have a JVC GR-D340EK, it has a firewire connection and so does my pc (windows xp)

My pc does not recognize it. No familiar "clunk clunk" sound as it is plugged in, no little sign popping up, and nothing in my computer.

WinDV and Windows Movie Maker say that there is no device attached.

It shouldnt need a driver? Help!

Hi, when the cam is attached, is there any exclamation mark in Devices? If there is you can try update driver, in Devices/Properties.
