I have a Dell Optiplex XL 575, which is currently running a 16MB RAM. I want to upgrade to 256MB Its full capacity. The memory is a 72 pin simm fast page mode, of which i am finding it very difficult to locate. Does anyone know where i can find this type? (64MB variety)

Why not look at an upgrade bundle which includes a mobo, processor + heat sink, and RAM. About £100 will see you done. I've used these people three times now for such bundles and they have been great. click here

For the memory you want try Dell themselves click here and go to the UK site or Crucial click here and use their memory selector - you will need to input either your PC make and model or mobo make and model
