Hi all,

I have Office 97 - !! - installed on my system and I'm looking to upgrade. Can I upgrade to Office 2003 - that is the most recent version available right? - straight from Office 97? I've seen the upgrade version of Office 2003 for less than £200 so would ideally like to buy that if I could.

Cheers.

According to the info on my box, yes. Office 2003 requires Windows 2000 or Windows XP.

Cheers for that. I have Windows XP Home so I've got the right OS according to what you say and the Microsoft website says.

Why not OpenOffice - FREE to all users, MS Office compatible?

If your Office 97 does everything you want do you REALLY need to upgrade?

I am still using Office 2000. Does all I want so I see no point in spending lots of money to upgrade it to a later version.

As pointed out by €dstowe, Openoffice is free and a very good alternative to MS Office.

However, I upgraded to Office XP because there appeared to be compatability problems with my new system, I now know how I could have overcome them.

A waste of £300
