Upgrading my PC RAM

Hi

I have an old Hewlett Packard Pavilion 6720 pc recently upgraded to Windows XP. It runs but it only has 190MB of RAM (168pin SDRAM). I think this is a little tight and it does decrease performance. I have found out that the maximum amount of RAM compatitable is 512MB. Would it be a good idea to get 2x 256mb RAM because I know it cant take 1x 512MB Ram for some reason? Is it worth it or not? Also where should I get it from?

Thanks

Hmm, I guess you could try ebay - but better to save your pennies and when you have enough of them perhaps get a more up-to-date pc, you could still get one quite cheap pre-used!

Have a look in your local news paper or freeads, one can find some pretty good cheapies that way.

If you have a monitor, keyboard and mouse already, nip into PCWorld, Dixons, Comet or the like, and price a tower only, you can get a fairly decent system for less than £300.
