I have recently upgraded my Dell Dimension E520 to Windows 7. The time it takes to load is unbelievably slow. I thought XP was slow but this.......... I get the usual XP screens at the start showing XP then whats built in. Then 7`s icon appears for about 10 secs then I get a black screen with a white arrow in centre of screen for about two minutes, maybe longer. I have 4Gb memory installed. Can someone assist in getting things speeded up

Don't quite get the " I get the usual XP screens at the start ......" if you've installed W7, you shouldn't be seeing XP stuff.

Could you describe the steps that you went through to upgrade?

What I meant to say was that I got all of Dells start screens, the first two. What I did was get the computer to use the DVD drive as primary drive to run installation on Windows 7 disc and followed the instructions.
