Upgrade Phenom II 1035T to 1055T

I have an Acer M3400 with a Phenom II 1035T AM3 95w - there are some real bargains right now on the 1055T AM3 95w - can anyone tell me if this would be a straight swap? The Bios is American Megatrends P01-A2.

Many thanks,

A. Theoretically yes. The 1055T processor will, for example fit in the AM2+ socket and will, in that case have its DDR2, in place of the DDR3 memory controller taking control.

You would, however, like to use a motherboard with AM3 socket in place of AM2+ socket to unleash the power of the six core processor. The DDR2 is officially limited to 800 MT/s as against the 1333 GT/s of the DDR3.

According to this link the 1055T is 125w enter link description here

Sorry - I see you already have a AM3 motherboard.

Hi - Thanks for that - AMD released two versions of the 1055T, 95W and 125W
