Upgrade advice

I want to upgrade my PC but am limited to a budget of £100. MY PC is used mainly for playing games (Max Payne 2, Tiger Woods, CM 03/04 and the kids games) and surfing the net.
I am thinking of upgrading my graphics card but am not sure to what. My system specs are below:

AMD 1.7XP, 512MB PC2100 Ram, Asrock K7VT2, 2x HDD (total 40Gb), Sound Blaster Live 1024 player, GEForce4 MX440, 1 x CDRW & 1xDVD Rom.

I have been surfing various sites looking at new cards and the Radeon 9600 and the GEForce 5600 look like the cards in my price range. Would I get better performance from these cards or from a GEForce4 TI 4200/4400which aren't DirectX 9 cards?

Grateful for any views.

(Also thought about a MOBO/Processor upgrade but think I will get more benefit from changing the graphics card given what the PC is used for).

Cheers

Simon

not much point upgrading the mobo or processor at the moment, you won't notice much difference even if you double the processor speed.
