Upgrade from 98SE to XP more than once?

  Sapins 15:12 29 Mar 06

I have upgraded my main computer by buying an upgrade version of XP Home.

Is it allowable to upgrade a second computer using the same 98SE CD?

The OS is only supposed to be on one PC at a time.

You could use the same 98cd to prove you have a full OS but you cannot install the same xp upgrade on two different pc's.You would need to buy another xp upgrade cd.

We apologise for the temporary fault, the poster started typing before his brain was engaged.

I am going to buy another XP upgrade I just wanted to know if I can use the same 98SE CD to authenticate the 2nd. upgrade.

Yes,i have done it with both my son's and mine.
as long as you have 2 seperate upgrade cd's i cant see a problem.
You can upgrade without having 98 installed just run the upgrade cd and insert 98 cd when asked.
