Updating Nvidia Detonators - The best way?

Hi,

Whenever I have previously updated Detonator drivers for my ti-500, I have simply run setup.exe that comes with the driver.

I have never previously removed the old driver.

I have read that this can lead to problems so would like to know what is the correct procedure to remove the old and replace with the new.

I am using Windows XP Home.

Thanks

Hi, Evolution,

Can't give you specific advice but if you go here

there is a lot of information in various links which will help you. In particular, have a look at Detonator Destroyer, a small download which gets rid of all NVidia files before you install new ones.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

IZZY

Go to add/remove progs and uninstall the present drivers then after it has rebooted (and basic VGA drivers are in use) install the new Detonator drivers.

If you have problems with that install then use the Detonator Destroyer IZZY speaks of and try again :o)

Not forgetting to disable antivirus software for the duration of the installation.
