Been happy with XP since the upgrade from 98se. However, I now want to do a clean install. Question is my driver updates I got before the upgrade. Where do I find them, and copy correctly? Device Manager? All help appreciated.

what were they for?

I assume you downloaded all the driver updates?

Did you not save them to file somewhere? If you did, then copy them to CD-R

Yeah, all downlaods, and all went to their relevant destinations, I presume. Where do I copy them from? Open up Device Manager and View Driver Details, then copy?

I assume you opened them immediately(open from current location) then rather than "saving them to disc"?

Not as simple as you say, as you may have downloaded them, opened them and they would have gone in the temporary file folder.

They may have gone by now

Go the websites of each individual component that you need an XP driver for and "save it to disc" then copy that file to a CD-R

try and get service pk 1 on disc and that will speed things up for you.
