Can anyone tell me how to sort out Windows Updates?
I recently had to re-install Xp and since then it has continues updates. It tries to install them when you shut down but cant and there is a permanent yellow shield in the task area. I know there is a fix for this as I have done it before but I just cant remember it.

Please can someone help me as I recently had a virus and I want to be up to date, I dont want to go through that again!

Click Start > Run,
and input the following commands in the Run textbox: (you can make this simpler by copy/pasting one line at a time, then click OK after each one, then click Start, Run again and repeat with the next command)

regsvr32 wuapi.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng.dll
regsvr32 atl.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuaueng1.dll
regsvr32 wucltui.dll
regsvr32 wups.dll
regsvr32 wuweb.dll
regsvr32 wups2.dll
regsvr32 msxml.dll
regsvr32 msxml3.dll
regsvr32 msxml2.dll
regsvr32 qmgr.dll
regsvr32 qmgrprxy.dll

You will receive a message stating the process succeeded after you input each command.

After that, visit the Windows Update site again, and see if you can do the updates or not ?
