Being new to this, can anyone tell me how I unzip a programme which has been downloaded?

You will need a Zip program such as Winzip to unzip your files, allthough some are self unziping, try double clicking on it to see if it one of these.

Although if you've ME or XP there is native support for simple unzipping - the compressed files feature - and if you've this component installed[check under Add/Remove-Windows Components] then doubleclicking will unzip them.

right click the file and click extract, if its windows me or xp. You don't need extra programs to do this, and i think this built in feature is better than the other freeware ones.
