Unwanted Web Sites

Every time I boot up certain web sites have appeared in my favorites. I delete them but next time I boot up they are there again. I have deleted cookies and files and done several scans but all to no avail. Can anybody suggest anything else?

What scans? If antivirus then I'm not surprised. Seems like a job for Spybot.

have a look - start - run then type msconfig and press enter. top right hand tab - startup - go down the list and if the name appears take the tick out of the box on the left. By the way I only have my virus and firewall with ticks in nothing else [the pc runs faster]. If you take ticks out reboot and when the notice appears put a tick in the left hand box and the notice will not appear each time you boot.

Removing the ticks in msconfig / startup will stop something loading, but this looks like the registry contains these "favourites". If so msconfig will do nothing for you. You will need to run a Spyware prog (maybe more than one) to remove all the bits unless you want to get your hands dirty with the registry editor.
