Unwanted sites

  Rossagh 17:26 12 May 04

After opening the internet and Explorer 6, I find that an icon for Adult site has been placed on the desktop, added to favourites and the start bar. In addition a site for Viagra and Hot Porn site has been added to favourites.
I delete the icons each day and have deleted them from the C drive, only to have them reappear each day.
Can anyone help me, please?

Spybot-S&D click here

Three programs which should help to remove them and keep them away.

Thanks for replies,
johnnyrocker - os is win 98se, av is Panda, I had Norton 2004, but for some reason it stopped working and I found it impossible to reinstall it, despite "help" from their helpline!I also have spyware and I have attempted to use it to get rid of the problem, but it appears to only work temporarily and the sites reappear after opening the internet.

Diodorus - I will download the sites and let you know how I get on.
Thanks to both of you for your help.

After the clean out with Diodorus' programs, d'load, install SpywareBlaster - click here - this blocks out most nasties from your PC as you surf. Remember to enable it's protection after installation. For all the above programs, remember to check for updates regularly & BEFORE scanning for the first time.

You could also go into add/remove programs and delete from there if it is listed. Also if it is in add/remove programs but wont let you delete it , you could install a free uninstaller tool to see if that will shift it click here

I downloaded the programmes as advised by Diodorus and Crossbow 7. I have opened the internet approximately eight times since running the programs and, thankfully, the unwanted programmes have not reappeared.
Thank you very much to all who helped.
