UNWANTED SCREEN INTRUSION

I am running XP on Pipex Broadband using a Speedtouch modem.
The setup has not changed for many months and has been running well.
For the last three weeks I have been getting a window pop up mid screen at a precise frequency of 60 seconds and it appears for less than one second.
The window is the same as the one that appears briefly when I am connecting to the next. It is exactly centre screen and is headed DIAL UP CONNECTION below that it says “connect the service you want to connect to” and has three boxes at the bottom Connect, Settings and Cancel.
It appears whenever I am connected to the net whether I am browsing at the time or not.
Whatever I am doing at the time it corrupts.
I have changed the Speedtouch 330 modem for a spare one I have and it made no difference.
Before I remove and reload the modem software has anyone any ideas.
I have searched all the menus for something that happens at 60 seconds to no avail.

VoG
Thanks for that.
All it found was a Tracking Cookie - saletrack.co.
It dealt with it but the problem is still there.
This morning I ran CCleaner and SpyBot and did a full scan with Kaspersky.
Tomorrow morning I'll remove and reload my Modem software.
Thanks again.

Start/control panel/internet options/connections.
Make sure never dial a connection is ticked.

You are a star.
Three weeks of aggro stopped in 60 seconds.
Thanks again.
