Unusual character in URL

Can anyone tell me about a character that I found in the URL for a Yahoo Group ?

I can't reproduce it here, because it's not listed in the special ALT characters list that I have.

Imagine the letter 'i' without the dot, in bold type, twice the width, with the bottom resting on the underscore level, and the top falling somewhat short of the height of the main characters.

Its function seems to be to access a hidden file directory.

Any ideas ??

Just found out that it's Alt 127 which is shown as a square symbol in my list but actually appears differently in a URL
