Unsigned Drivers/"New Hardware found"

  Southernboy 20:31 27 Jun 05

When I bought my new PC, I discovered that no XP software disc was available for my Brother printer. Brother kindly sent me a floppy disc with drivers that was to be used for installation instead of the CD ROM that came with it.

This gives me reasonable use, although not all the features. The problem I have is the series of annoying pop-ups that continually tell me that "New Hardware Found" and asking me to access the internet. This PC has no internet connection and, anyway, the drivers given to me by Brother are all there is on the net.

Can anyone tell me how to disable this annoying warning, please? There is no option on the warning message.

Southernboy's PC isn't on the Internet, so I guess that links are tricky for him.

I just can't download anything. I print off what the link says at 10p a page!

as clicking the Advanced button, look for other files that are not digitally signed. It produced a list of 179!!

Where do I go from here? I didn't see any box marked LOOK IN THIS FOLDER.
